Modern travel systems are actually baby seats designed to fit snuggly onto a car seat using the seat belts. They are made to ensure that a baby or a toddler remains safe during a collision regardless of the speed and direction of impact. Without such systems in place you and your baby are at danger because a seat belt is not designed to protect tiny children. It has a height and weight restriction below which it is more dangerous than helpful.

Any good travel systems will provide children with the highest level of material protection which is fire proof and puncture proof ensuring that the inhabitant is always protected. Moreover, it shall be comfortable for the child and not irritating to their bare skin. Since, children are the most precious gifts of nature, it is better to protect them as much as possible when travelling in a vehicle. It is much better to use a child car seat than hold on to them while travelling. The forces of impact are just too strong for a mother to hold on to their child in an accident.
